
Wellington, United States – January 30, 2026 – Great Britain was back on top on Friday at Wellington International during the fourth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF). Early in the day on the grass Derby Field at Equestrian Village, British Olympic Champion Ben Maher rode 15-year-old Dutch mare Ginger-Blue to top the $32,000 Defiant Whisky Speed CSI 4* for owner Jane Forbes Clark. The duo left all the poles up in the 1.50 class, registering 66.36 for the win.
It was a one-two for Great Britain as Samuel Hutton (GBR) guided Etincelle d’Ellipse towards a foot-perfect round too, completing the course in 68.18 for reserve honors.
Jordan Coyle (IRL) and Chaccolino completed the podium in flawless fashion too, being timed in 68.39 seconds.
