
Mexico City, Mexico โ April 12, 2024 โ A total of 34 riders gathered for the โฌ57,000 Mercedes-Benz Trophy CSI 5*, the first CSI 5* class on Friday at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Mexico City CSI 5* & CSI 2*. The list of participants included 7 Mexican riders, along with three Olympic medalists from the Tokyo Games: Swedish rider Malin Baryard-Johnsson (SWE), British rider Ben Maher (GBR), and Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten (NED).
The โฌ57,000 Mercedes-Benz Trophy CSI 5* was judged as a CSI 5* speed class with a height of 1.50 m. The course consisted of 12 obstacles and 14 jumps. Out of the 32 participants, only 8 horse-rider combinations managed to complete the course without any faults.

The indisputable winner was the number 7 in the FEI world ranking, French rider Simon Delestre and I Amelusina R 51. This pair emerged victorious with a faultless round in a time of 74.77 seconds. Canadian rider Erynn Ballard (CAN), riding Libido van’t Hofken, was the closest competitor to the French rider’s time. Ballard finished her round without faults in a time of 75.82 seconds.
Third place was claimed by the Portuguese rider Duarte Seabra (POR) and his horse Dourados 2, completing their penalty-free performance in 77.49 seconds.
