Sergio Álvarez Moya & Charisma HS: Winners of the Pavo Trophy CSI 4* at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour

Vejer de La Frontera– February 9, 2023 – Top Spanish rider Sergio Álvarez Moya (ESP) had a stunning start to his season on the first day of CSI4* at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2023. This event is kindly sponsored by the ‘Consejería de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte’ and co-financed by the European Union. The course was designed by Uliano Vezzani (ITA) and held on grass in the David Broome arena and was kindly sponsored by Pavo, who are market leaders in equine nutrition. In the Pavo Trophy CSI 4* speed class, Sergio was riding Charisma HS, a nine-year-old chestnut Holsteiner mare, who is owned by Hugo Simon. The mare is by ‘Uriko’, and is fast and careful.

Yuri Mansur (BRA) & Miss Blue Mystic Rose

Sergio took the lead in 64.39s from another regular rider here at Montenmedio, Brazilian, Yuri Mansur (BRA). Yuri had the lead for a long time as he had jumped a beautiful round, finishing in 64.95s with ‘Miss Blue Mystic Rose’, who has superb bloodlines, being by ‘Chacco Blue’; dam sire, ‘VDL Zirocco Blue’.

Gilles Thomas (BEL) & Elfra Van Beek Z

The Belgian rider currently ranked 29th in the world, Gilles Thomas (BEL), took a well deserved third place with the athletic ‘Elfra Van Beek Z’ (‘El Salvador’ x ‘Vagabond de la Pomme’). In fourth was Spanish Olympic rider Eduardo Álvarez Aznar (ESP) with ‘Enjoy de la Mure’ (‘Vigo Cece’ x ‘Sable Rose’) and in fifth was the Czech rider Ales Opatrny (CZE) and ‘Forewer’ (‘Caruso 279’ x ‘Grossadmiral’).
