Edwina Tops-Alexander & Catenda Blaze to First at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour CSI 3*

Oliva Nova, Valencia, Spain – January 27, 2023 – Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) and Catenda were a force to be reckoned with on Friday at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour. The duo teamed up for the win in the €27,400 Dammann Reitplatz- u. Sportplatzbau Trophy Grand Prix Qualifier CSI 3*.

A star-studded list of 93 combinations entered the ring for the most important class of the day, a speed challenge featuring obstacles set at the height of 1.45 meters. In the end, it was the Australian and her very own 2011 dark bay Holsteiner mare (Casall x Contender) who prevailed, doing so in flawless fashion while completing the course in 71.97 seconds.

It was a duel between two of the best ladies in the sport for the win with another multiple five-star grand prix winner claiming second place. Pénélope Leprévost (FRA) gave Edwina a run for the jackpot, falling just short due to her time of 72.11 seconds aboard Djagger Semilly (Diamant de Semilly x Apache d’Adriers).

The top three were completed by Mike Kawai (JPN) and Tokyo du Soleil (Montender x Papillon Rouge), who registered a penalty-free performance in 73.25 seconds for the final spot on the podium.
