Heather Caristo-Williams & Marciano MVF are the Masters in $36,600 SmartPak Welcome CSI 2* at Hits Saugerties

Saugerties, New York, USA – June 10, 2021 – The third week of the Hits Saugerties Spring Series has concluded at Hits-on-the-Hudson. This final week featured USEF-Rated and FEI CSI 2* competition including a $25,000 Hits Grand Prix CSI 2*, $50,000 Grand Prix CSI 2*, and $10,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. Thursday kicked off the first FEI CSI 2* competition with the $36,600 SmartPak Welcome where Heather Caristo-Williams (USA) continued her winning ways aboard Marciano MVF.

The American and the 10-year-old bay Zangersheide gelding (Stakkato x Libero H) secured the win backed by a speedy jump-off performance in 42.63 and no penalties. This Saugerties local favorite took home the blue ribbon by less than one second. 

Jonathan Corrigan (IRL) and Fair Play (Gaillard de La Pomme x Cartier van de Heffinck) matched the winners’ double clear, ending up in second place after a completing their second effort in 43.41 seconds.

Amanda Flint (USA) and VDL Wittinger (Indoctro x Nimmerdor) completed the podium, registering no penalties and jump-off time of 45.92 seconds in the tiebreaker.

Hits Saugerties returns with the Summer Series that is set to host USEF-Rated 5* and FEI CSI 4* competition July 21-August 8, featuring a $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, $213,300 FEI Grand Prix, and World Championship Hunter Rider Week
