Grimaud, Saint Tropez, France – May 01, 2021 – Julien Anquetin (FRA) and Z Ice Cube Z were cool under pressure in the jump-off, making sure the host nation continued to dominate by winning the €25,400 Hubside Jump-off Challenge CSI 2* on Saturday.
Riding Z Ice Cube Z, a 8-year-old Zangersheide gelding, the Frenchman advanced to and completed the jump-off without having any penalties attributed to them, securing the win in 40.37 seconds.
Roger Yves Bost (FRA) and Bluemuch des Baleines (Chacco-Blue x Clinton) were the closest ones, finishing second only due to their final time of 41.35 seconds.
After winning the €15,000 Hubside Speed Challenge CSI 4* earlier on the same day, Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) was back on the podium again, earning his fourth top-three finish. This time, he rode Baladin des Matis (Padock du Plessis*HN) towards two penalty-free efforts, earning bronze honors in 42.06 seconds.

“I think I saved some precious time landing number two off the jump-off by turning very inside the track. Z Ice Cube Z extends very easily and comes back very quickly so it’s very easy to throw him back into a jump-off while ensuring the verticals at the end of the line. Honestly, I did go into the jump-off thinking of saving time here or there, I started as quickly as possible from the first to the last! The horse is eight years old so I’ll leave him alone to finish the weekend. He fulfilled his contract well today.”
