Sameh El Dahan & Sumas Zorro €270,000 Longines Grand Prix CSI 5* at Casas Novas Winter Show

Sameh El Dahan (EGY) & Suma’s Zorro won the €270,000 Longines Grand Prix CSI 5* last night during the CSI Casas Novas 5*W/2* in La Coruña, Spain. The Egyptian and the 13-year-old chestnut Anglo-European Sport Horse mare (Ard VDL Douglas x ) were the fastest of the the three combinations that had qualified for the jump-off, clearing all the 1.60 meters maximum-height obstacles in 33.61 seconds.

Carlos Enrique Lopez Lizarazo (COL) & Cuplandra were the first ones to go in the jump-off, setting the time to be beaten after a fault-free performance in 34 seconds.

Jos Verlooy (BEL) & Igor (Emerald van’t Ruytershof x Nabab de Reve) had the advantage of being the last ones to face the decisive course, but the Belgian didn’t go all out, guiding the “green” 9-year-old chestnut Belgian Warmblood gelding to a third-place finish after a double clear and a time of 34.56 seconds during the tiebreaker.
