Daniel Deusser Dominates to Win €50,000 BMW Cartec Speed Challenge CSI 5*

Prague, Czech Republic – November 18, 2022 – The very best of showjumping continued flying high on the second day of the Global Champions Prague Playoffs CSI 5*. A familiar face of the noble sport rose to the occasion, claiming top honors in the €50,000 BMW Cartec Speed Challenge CSI 5* this Friday at the O2 Arena in the Czech capital. The feat was achieved by Daniel Deusser (GER) and Narcos vd Smidshoeve.

The highly-contested 1.50m speed challenge, run on a course designed by Uliano Vezzani (ITA), featured 37 combinations and despite being the 16th to go in the starting order, the German and the Stepehex Stables9-year-old bay Belgian Warmblood gelding (Toulon x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) mastered the course before crossing the finish line in 55.84 seconds for the victory.

After finishing second in the €40,080 Individual Speed Challenge CSI 5* at the same event the previous day, Denis Lynch (IRL) repeated the feat, but this time with Cornets Iberio (Cornet Obolensky x Charlottenhof’s Iberio), earning reserve honors backed by a penalty-free performance in 56.29 seconds.

Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) and Elysium (VDL Zirocco Blue x Coronado 3) were neck-to-neck with the previous duo, securing the third spot on the podium only three-hundredths of a second behind them.
