Grimaud, France – October 14, 2022 – To the delight of the home crowd, Alexa Ferrer (FRA) and Vitalhorse Cekanane de Ushara provided spectators with what they had wished for, flying to first in the €25,500 Hubside Store Speed Challenge CSI 2* on Friday during the final week of the Hubside Jumping’s Fall Tour Series at Haras des Grillons.
Ferrer guided the 2012 chestnut Selle Français mare (Kannan x Quaprice Bois Margot) flawlessly over all the 1.45m obstacles while still registering the fastest time, blazing across the finish line in 66.21 seconds.
The winning mark proved too fast for the rest of the field. Rik Hemeryck (BEL) and Caristello JPZ (Clintissimo Z x Popcorn) came the closest, still almost a full four seconds slower, stopping the timers in 70.10 seconds.
Kevin Jochems (NED) a d Shanroe Peeters (Dallas VDL x Condios) were right on the heels of the latter two, finishing only three-hundredths of second behind, good enough for bronze honors.
