Natalie Dean & Cocolina are the Masters in the $37,500 Marsh Canada Cup CSI 3* at Spruce Meadows

Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Alberta, Canada – September 08, 2022 – The All Canada Ring was full of action for the second day of the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament. The course for the $37,500  Marsh Canada Cup CSI 3* 1.45m jump off competition was designed by Canadian FEI Course Designer Peter Grant (CAN). Athletes were challenged over 525m of track with 12 obstacles (15 jumping efforts) all under the time allowed of 84 seconds.

Only two rider-and-horse combinations passed all the tests to make it to the jump off. The first victory of the day belonged to Natalie Dean (USA) and the 11-year-old chestnut Oldenburg mare (Conthargos x Papillon Rouge) Cocolina, whose winning jump-off clean jump-off round was completed in 34.69 seconds.

Winner of the $75,000 Cana Cup CSIO 5* later on the same day, Conor Swail (IRL) came close to winning two FEI-level classes on Thursday at Spruce Meadows. He also registered a clean scorecard with Gamble (Vingino x Indoctro), finishing second due to their jump-off time of 36.62 seconds.

An unfortunate time-penalty in the first round kept Rowan Willis (AUS) and Wellington Grey Goose (Corlensky G x Grandero) out of the chase for the jackpot. However, their time of 87.12 seconds was more than enough to secure them the third spot on the podium.

Final Results – $37,500 – Marsh Canada Cup CSI 3*
