From A to Z…. Zendejas Schools the Competition in Marques de Riscal Trophy CSI 2*

Mexico City, Mexico – April 28, 2022 – Juan Jose Zendejas Salgado (MEX) has shone under the big lights throughout his equestrian career and it was no different on Thursday at the 2022 Longines Global Champions Tour of Mexico City. Competing in the first the brilliant Mexican teamed up with Tino La Chapelle, taking top the honors in the $551,000 Marques de Riscal Trophy CSI 2* at Campo de Marte.

The class featured forty-five combinations challenging the first phase two-phase test with obstacles set at the height of 1.45 meters. One-third of the competitors completed phase 1 without having penalties attributed to them, thus advancing to next phase. In the end, it was Zendejas and his long time 15-year-old gray Selle Français gelding (Mylord Carthago*HN x Verdi) who prevailed, completing the second part flawlessly in 28.42 seconds.

Franscisco Pasquel Vega (MEX) and Dominant 2000 Z (Diamant de Semilly x Cassini I) also registered a clean scorecard all the way to the wire, securing second place with their final time of 28.59 seconds.

Ignacio Maurin (ARG) spoiled the all-Mexican podium, riding Franco ( Firth of Lorne x Coronas ) towards bronze honors in 28.96 seconds.
