Philipp Weishaupt & Coby Power to Victory in €95,000 Fastator Prize CSI 5* at Stockholm

Stockholm, Sweden – June 19, 2021 – Philipp Weishaupt (GER) and Coby 8 powered to victory in the €95,000 Fastator Prize CSI 5*, the second GCL Individual Competition during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Stockholm CSI 5* last Saturday.

The German and the 11-year-old bay Hanoverian gelding (Contagio / Escudo 19) were supreme in the 1.55/1.60 m challenge against the clock, topping 47 other combinations after a penalty-free run in 66.67 seconds.

The most consistent combination at the top of the sport the past two weeks, Peder Fredricson (SWE) and Catch Me Not S (Cardento 933 / Ramiro’s Son) were just two-tenths of a second slower than the winners, earning the second spot on the podium in 66.87 seconds.

It was a close call amongst the top three pairs and another all-time great Swede rider rounded out the top three, in fact a duo that had just been named to represent the country in the Olympic Games. Rolf-Göran Bengtsson ( SWE) rode Ermindo W (Singapore x Carinjo) towards bronze honors, registering no penalties in 68 seconds flat.
