Saint Tropez, France – May 29, 2021 – Simon Delestre (FRA) and Hermes Ryan soared over all the obstacles before racing across the finish line towards victory in the €95,250 Second GCL Individual Competition CSI 5* last Saturday during the third leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour & Global Champions League, held at the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show in Pampleone Beach, Ramatuelle, Saint Tropez in France.
The Frenchman and the little mighty 16-year-old Selle Français gelding (Hugo Gesmeray x Ryon d’Anzex) blazed through Grégory Bodo’s (FRA) course while leaving all the 1.55m/1.60m obstacles up, registering 63.16 seconds for the win.
Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) and Katanga v/h Dingeshof (Cardento 933 x Tornedo FCS) were the closest ones, finishing second due to being exactly eight-tenths of a second slower, being timed in 63.96 seconds.
The difference between the next two, who secured bronze honors was nine-tenths of a second. Edward Levy (FRA) rode Rebeca LS (Rebozo la Silla x Cassini I) to the third spot on the podium, completing their performance in 64.86 seconds.
