San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – May 22, 2021 – The sun continued to shine bright for the second week of FEI-level competition at Otomí Club Hípico but it was Luis Alejandro Plascencia Oñate (MEX) and Elton ML who stole the spotlight last Saturday, claiming the victory in the MXN $1,100,000 Otomí Grand Prix CSI 2*.
The Mexican and the 11-year-old grey Belgian Sport Horse stallion (Castellino van de Helle x Paladin des Ifs) were supreme in the 1.45m contest by completing their two performances without having any penalties attributed to them, securing the win in 42.29 seconds.
It was a one-two for the host nation as Antonio Maurer (MEX) and Sandorado (Sandro Boy x Chellano Z) matched the winners’ double clear, finishing second due to their final time of 42.46 seconds.
John Perez Bohm (COL) and Voodoo (Kannan x Kimball) rounded out the top three backed by a clean scorecard, tripping the timers in 42.85 seconds during the tiebreaker.
