Bourg-en-Bresse, France – May 23, 2021 – The Jumping International de Bourg-en-Bresse CSI 4* concluded on Sunday with Bernardo Alves (BRA) and El Torreo de Muze shining the brightest in the feature attraction of the week, the €100,100 Ville de Bourg-en-Bresse Grand Prix CSI 4*.

Grégory Bodo (FRA) designed the two tests for the jump-off challenge that featured obstacles set at the maximum height of 1.55 meters, A total of 50 combinations entered the ring but only two combinations managed to answer all the questions, with the eventual winners going up against Laurent Goffinet (FRA) and Atome des Etisses.

A former top ten rider in the world, going up against a rider that represented the host nation and had support of his countrymen, pressure didn’t influence Bernardo Alves‘ (BRA) performance aboard the 11-year-old grey Belgian Warmblood (Taran de La Pomme x Vigo d’Arsouilles). The “Belo Horizontino” guided the stallion towards a second fault-free effort while still managing to be faster than his French rival, securing top honors in 41.85 seconds.

Laurent Goffinet (FRA) and Atome des Etisses (Mylord Carthago*HN x Quidam de Revel) were not too far behind, the only difference being their final time of 42.31 seconds.

Winners of the €25,138 CA3B Jump-off Challenge CSI 4* last Friday, Julien Anquetin (FRA) and Blood Diamond du Pont (Diamant de Semilly x Arpege Pierreville*HN) put on another solid performance to earn bronze honors, posting the fastest time among the 18 combinations that had four penalty-points in the first round, timed in 68.97 seconds.
