Gorla Minore, Italy – May 16, 2021 – Holly Smith (GBR) and Fruselli flew the highest and were the fastest to win the €25,500 Happy Horse Small Grand Prix CSI 4* last Sunday at the Equieffe Equestrian Centre. Smith was able to navigate the course flawlessly in the first round aboard the 11-year-old chestnut Dutch Warmblood (Zambesi x Karandasj), being the quickest to go clear in the decisive phase, stopping the timers in 39.96 seconds to secure the victory.
Steve Guerdat (SUI) almost scored two major victories on the same day. Before going on to win the €95,000 MBE Grand Prix CSI 4* just a few hours later, the Swiss rode Ulysse des Forets (Col Canto x Le Tot Semilly) towards a second place finish in the 1.45m contest, being timed at 40.89 seconds.
Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) and Cochello (Casall x Cartani 4) rounded out the top three with after a double clear, crossing the final timers in 41.83 seconds.
