Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – October 29, 2020 – Ireland was back on top again yesterday during the fourth week of competitions of the 2020 Vilamoura Champions Tour. Shane Breen (IRL) and Z7 Ipswich did the honors for the Irishmen, claiming the €34,300 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 3*.
Riding the 12-year-old chestnut Belgian Warmblood gelding (Carembar x Quick Star), the Breen was supreme in the 1.45m contest held under the format of aggregated penalties, advancing to and completing both sections without registering any penalties. The duo stopped the final timers in 32.92 seconds to secure the victory.
Morgan Bordat (FRA) and Uma (Calvaro F.C. x Veneur d’Etenclin) were less than two-tenths slower for reserve honors, timed in 33.06 seconds.
Another Irishman secured the third spot on the podium, with Michael Pender (IRL) and HHS Fast Forward (Fortunus x Cavalier Royale) also registering a clean scorecard, stopping the final timers in 33.39 seconds.
