Jessica Mendoza Wins $37,000 Restylane® Welcome at Split Rock Jumping Tour’s Columbus International I CSI 2*

Columbus, Ohio, USA – September 25, 2020 Jessica Mendoza (GBR) rode Dublin to victory in the $37,000 Restylane® 1.45m Welcome class at the Split Rock Jumping Tour’s (SRJT) Columbus International I CSI 2*.

Operating under COVID-19 protocols and guidelines, the Split Rock Jumping Tour’s (SRJT) Columbus International I CSI2* is being heldat the Brave Horse Equestrian Center. The event continues through Sunday, running with approvalsfrom the State of Ohio, FEI and USEF. Following a two-day break, action will continue at the same site with the Columbus International II CSI 2*.

Out of a starting field of 76 horses, Mendoza was one of twelve to reach the tiebreaking jump-off by riding without penalty over the 16-jump, first-round course designed by Anderson Lima (BRA). Eight entries then turned in another clean round over the 8-jump, jump-off course with Mendoza claiming the win with the fastest time of 38.670 seconds aboard the 13-year-old grey gelding (Cobra 18 x Calido I).

Placing second was Christian Heineking (GER) with no penalties and a time of 38.950 seconds on NKH Cento Blue. Third place was claimed by Harrie Smolders (NED) who finished with zero faults in 39.580 seconds on Hocus Pocus de Muze.
