Quarteiro, Faro, Portugal – July 12, 2020 – It was a win for the host nation as João Marquilhas (POR) and Glamour ES claimed first place in the €25,500 Grand Prix CSI 2* during the second week of the Vilamoura by Summer at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre.

Riding the 9-year-old chestnut Dutch Warmblood gelding (Echo Vant Spieveld x Calvados), the Portuguese secured the victory by registering the fastest clear jump-off round, stopping the timers in 40.08 seconds.

Santiago Nuñez Riva (ESP) and Valentino de Hus Z (Vivaldi du Seigneur x Trophee du Rozel) gave the eventual winners a run for their money, finishing only twelve-hundredths of a second behind.

Hugo Carvalho (POR) and Vichy du Puits (Hurlevent de Breka x Thurin) also put in two great efforts for Portugal, rounding out the top three with a final time of 41.26 seconds.
