Dinard, France – May 04, 2020 – The organizers of the Jumping International de Dinard CSI 5* and its president, Danièle Mars, have released a statement announcing that this year’s edition of the event has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Their official announcement states the following:
In this period of Covid-19 pandemic and following the Prime Minister’s statement on April 27th, the Mars family is forced to cancel the International Jumping of Dinard. This 5-star competition, which brings together, every summer, the world’s show jumping elite and draws more than 40 000 spectators, was to be held from 30 July to 2 August 2020 on the mythical Val Porée equestrian stadium.
Danièle Mars, President of the International Jumping of Dinard:
“It is obviously a great disappointment for all those involved in this sporting event and for the general public: the City of Dinard, all the partners, the riders, the grooms, the owners, the public who are faithful each year to the performances of the best riders and horses in the world, and of course the whole team invested in the organization of the competition. Although difficult, this decision imposed on us was nevertheless the only possible outcome in the worldwide fight against the virus. The health of everyone is the priority today and we must participate in the collective effort to overcome this pandemic. As an organizer of equestrian event, we want to assure the entire equestrian world of our support in this very difficult period and we remain fully committed to its side. We look forward to seeing you at the 2021 edition, which we promise you will be exceptional!”
