Barcelona, Spain – October 05, 2019 – Pieter Devos (BEL) and Jade vd Bisschop claimed top honors in the €150,000 Hyundai Cup CSIO 5* yesterday during the CSIO Barcelona, event that featured the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final CSIO 5* at the Real Polo Club of Barcelona in Spain.
Eleven combinations succeeded in advancing to the jump-off after facing a fair but challenging course. Winner the same class two years ago, the Belgian repeated the feat aboard the 10-year-old chestnut Belgian Warmblood mare (Ogano Sitte x Grannus), laying down the fastest time while keeping all the poles up for no penalties, crossing the finish line in 52.18 seconds.
Emilio Bicocchi (ITA) and Evita Sg Z (Verdi TN x Codexco) were just fifteen-hundredths of a second off the time of the winners, securing silver honors.
Christian Ahlmann (GER) and Take a Chance on Me Z (Taloubet Z x Aldatus Z) completed the podium, registering no penalties and a final time of 52.98 seconds.
