The Longines CSI Basel 5*-W always brings out the best in Pius Schwizer (SUI) and it was no different yesterday as he teamed up with Balou Rubin R for another victory at the event, this time the CHF $30,300 BMW X5 Prize CSI 5*

The Swiss and the 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Balou du Rouet x Coleur Rubin) had no penalties attributed to them after clearing all the 1.45m obstacles, stopping the timers in 52.04 seconds for the victory.

Kevin Staut (FRA) on Ayade de Septon (Wandor van de Mispelaere x Belle d’Avril du Mazy) were the closest ones, matching the winners’ penalty-free performance in 52.30 seconds, enough for silver honors.

Another Frenchman climbed the podium as Olivier Robert (FRA) had no penalties aboard Vangog du Mas Garnier ( Windows vh Costersveld x Quidam de Revel), crossing the finish line in 52.81 seconds.
