It’s the moment we have been waiting for, showtime for the very best of showjumping during the FEI World Equestrian Games™ – Tryon 2018 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in Mill Spring, North Carolina, USA. The best rider-and-horse combinations will be crowned world champions today at the end of at least two very challenging rounds of competition.
Taking into account scores from the 3 previous performances, the field has been narrowed down to 25 combinations and less than one fence (four penalty-points) separates the top five highest-placed competitors. McLain Ward (USA) will try to feed off the energy from the home crowd as they cheer him on in the pursuit of another gold medal against the likes of Lorenzo de Luca (ITA), Martin Fuchs (SUI), Max Kuhner (AUT) and overall leader Simone Blum (GER).
The contestants go in reverse order according to their position so far, with the best going last. The order-of-go for the participants is the following:
Order / Rider / Country / Horse / Penalty-points
*Henrik von Eckerman (SWE) decided not to show Toveks Mary Lou after having finished in 21st place. They were replaced by the 26th combination in the standings, Carlos Lopez (COL) & Admara.
