Rodrigo Pessoa Announces Irish Showjumping Team for World Equestrian Games™ – Tryon 2018

Horse Sport Ireland, the national governing body for equestrian sports in Ireland, confirmed via its website that team manager Rodrigo Pessoa has named the four team members to represent Irish Showjumping during the FEI World Equestrian Games™ – Tryon 2018, to be held next September 11-23, at the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in Mill Spring, North Carolina, USA.

The team of selected riders and horses is the following:

Cian O’Connor (IRL) & Good Luck – owned by Adena Springs & Ronnoco Jump Ltd,

Paul O’Shea (IRL) & Skara Glen’s Machu Picchu – owned by Skara Glen Stables, Whipstick Farm, P. Hurter & P. Agnew

After naming the team, Rodrigo Pessoa made the following statement:

“These are the four team members that will represent Ireland at the World Equestrian Games where we will be seeking the Olympic qualification that has eluded us for many years and a medal as well. I have faith in this team and we are ready to battle with the best teams in the world.”

Pessoa will announce the fifth squad member (travelling reserve) closer to the final travel date.
