Molly Ashe-Cawley (USA) & D’Arnita won the Kubota Cup CSI 5* last Wednesday during the ‘North American’ CSI 5* at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The contest started with 84 horse/rider combinations in the first round of the 1.50m class on the International Ring. Only eleven jumped a clear first round on FEI course designer Santiago Varela’s (ESP) 500 meter track and proceeded to the jump off.
The American and the 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare (Vingino x Emilion) laid down a quick penalty-free jump-off performance in 41.39 seconds for the victory.
Eric Lamaze (CAN) & Houston (Heartbreaker x Cortofino) were the closest ones, finishing second with no penalties and a time of 41.650 seconds.
Daisy Farish (USA) & Great White (Cumano x Julio Mariner) earned bronze honors after posting their second flawless effort, going through the timers in 42.230 seconds.
